Welcome to Dawn.

This online collective is about those who want to create change here, now. To unleash the potential of people around the world to make positive change happen. What if the vast group of people working for a better world could see itself as one interwoven community; what if we could hold up a mirror and see how many of us are working for a better world, who is working on what, where are we making progress, and how could we all operate more effectively together?

It presents a picture of the global citizen of the 21st century, actively engaged in the governance of their community. You might call this the Digital / Green / Commons perspective. It has powerful implications for the way we organize ourselves in society, how we collaborate to make decisions in groups, and our very understanding of what it means to be human. Another world is possible, and the tools for building it are increasingly at hand.This Collective is a new world view. It is our new story.

What is happening?

From billion-dollar nonprofits to single-person dot.causes, these groups collectively comprise the largest movement on earth, a movement that has no name, leader, or location, and that has gone largely ignored by politicians and the media.

Like nature itself, it is organizing from the bottom up, in every city, town, and culture. And is emerging to be an extraordinary and creative expression of people’s needs worldwide.

What we are seeing now is an explosion of connectivity. The currency of this movement is information.

Why?

For the first time since life evolved, one species is now altering the physical, chemical, and biological features of the planet on a geological scale.

Scientists tell us of a litany of ecological disasters - climate change, toxic pollution, species extinction, marine depletion, deforestation - the depressing list can paralyse one with hopelessness and despair. Fear can motivate immediate action in the short-run, but hope can be sustained.

We need new politics and a new story.

What is Dawn?

Dawn is online Social Initiative Incubator. Dawn allows it’s members to network, learn, inspire and share resources with each other to bring about positive social change. It is about creating a global culture around ‘giving a damn’.

It uses innovative online tools to intuitively connect people with the appropriate ideas, organisations, networks and local action initiatives. There is no more important cause than the call to action to save our planet. It is time to wake up and speak up.

Dawn empowers and awakens the Global Citizen.

How?

At the core of ALL humanity’s problems is our thinking. Many can see that. Dawn seeks to provide a platform for the emergence of a new way of thinking. A new way of being.

All over the world there are many people who share similar values, dreams, and challenges. With all the tools we have now, we can communicate like never before.

The vision is to build a virtual and physical network of people / organizations that want to act locally, think globally, and share these visions with others.
