I'm ready to sock it to climate change! (And i acknowledge that Climate Change is both a symptom of clunky thinking and an opportunity to deeply understand concepts of interconnectedness)
I’ve got the hots for web-based interaction that is community and participation-centric that empowers users to 'network' their butts off. I am also interested how deep that networking can be.
I can now call myself a Social Entreprenuer, because i looked it up on wikipedia, and it describes all other 'stuff' I do. Now, thanks to the Hikurangi foundation, I am paid to do this a couple of days a week for Intersect.
I currently serve as the chair of the Sustainability Trust. Our trust enables people to adopt new sustainable behaviours. www.sustaintrust.org.nz
I helped to establish a young professionals network for young(ish) people who are passionate about cultural transformation and sustainability. www.Intersect.ning.com
My favourite things about the ‘new world’ that I see emerging around me today; a culture of care, new and remembered social processes, the opportunities for connection and meaning that the quest for ‘sustainability’ creates, deeply happy people who hold complexity with grace.
I also love the ukulele. It is a significant part of creating a happier world. www.ukulele.co.nz
I like to think, I like to meditate and muse. I like to problem solve, design and innovate and sing. I like to play. I am a learner and a practitioner of change. I am happy to share my knowledge with others, although I am also struggling with 'fingers-in-too-many-pies syndrome" so best not try to recruit me for any project.
To you, what are the most important issues we face as a species?
One Planet, one people, please:
Understanding interconnectedness, and starting to run this world as global citizens. This probably means global governance, as much as it means local governance.
Us=Them:
Understanding the relationship between micro and macro - that is what is happening 'out there' is a direct manifestation of what is happening in our 'inner life' (she points at self)
Developing Sense-Ability:
Grappling with the more subtle forces that operate in the world, and learning to trust and engage with these. (Nope, don't know what this is, but i think we might need to turn our brains off to understand this one, and start working with what we sense).
Play:
Playfulness puts us in a joyful state of possibilities and dreams. I think we need to spend more time in this state.
